I am NOT ok… This book was sad from the start, I am NOT ok…

This book was sad from the start, and I will admit I struggled to keep reading it, but I’m glad I finished.

It follows the story of a woman who grew up feeling not wanted or loved, and her children, and the sacrifices she made for the sake of love and hope for a better future for her family during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl era.

This book changed me, and if you grew up as the oldest daughter of a single mom, it might change you too.

I love you, Mom, always. ❤️
I’ve banned myself from buying new books this ye I’ve banned myself from buying new books this year, but that’s not stopping me from reading the new Sarah Adams book through @libby.app! I’ll just have to add the hard copy to the collection next year 😊
This is the best book I’ve read in a long time, This is the best book I’ve read in a long time, I’m not sure why it took me so long to get to it. I LOVE Kristin Hannah’s storytelling, so much I sort of want to go on a Kristin Hannah binge.

The Nightingale was my first finish of 2025 and I haven’t decided if I want to spend the month of January sobbing or change course and find a book a little more uplifting.

What should I read next?

Summer Love Stack This summer has been filled wit Summer Love Stack

This summer has been filled with easy, breezy, summer reading of romances. The reason I love them so much is that there’s is (usually) always a happy ending. This summer had some excellent romances released, a small sampling shown here.

💜 Romancing Mister Bridgerton
♥️ Just for the Summer
💙 A Novel Love Story
🩷 Business Casual
💛 This Summer Will Be Different
💙 Funy Story
🧡 The Rom-Commers
💚 The Paradise Problem

My favorite so far has been “Just for the Summer” by Abby Jimenez. What I loved most about this book was that it was not a typical romance. There were some relatable complexities around mental health, family relationships, and friendships. I’ve given this book as a gift to multiple people who have also really loved it as well.

What has been your favorite romance of the summer?

Dearest gentle readers, It has been some time sin Dearest gentle readers,

It has been some time since we last enjoyed a Bridgerton tale on the small screen, but at last, here we are watching Penelope and Colin’s story unfold. There are a handful of ways the show does not follow the book, specifically regarding details surrounding Lady Whistledown, but it is still an enjoyable watch. While part one seemed to be filled with lustful moments, I’m curious to see the romance between the two leads play out during part two. Does anyone have any guesses as to which Bridgerton will lead the next season? Which Bridgerton book has been your favorite so far?
